Tools and armour
Three gear tiers join the ones already in the game. Their exact values, against netherite.
Tools
Each material sets a durability, a mining speed, a damage bonus and an enchantability. The bonus then adds to the weapon profile: a sword brings +3 and an axe +5, with the matching speed penalty.

Armour
Armour points are identical across materials: 3 on boots, 6 on leggings, 8 on the chestplate and 3 on the helmet. What changes is durability, enchantability and toughness, which softens heavy hits.

No knockback resistance
This is the most important change for PvP: no armour in the game, netherite included, reduces knockback.
Scandium does not burn
Every scandium tool, armour piece and the bow resist fire: they survive lava. It is the only special property attached to a material, and it changes a lot about deep mining.
The scandium bow
The only bow ScandiCraft ores can build. Against an ordinary bow: 600 durability instead of 384, arrows hitting 1.5 times harder, an enchantability of 18 instead of 1, and it does not burn. It crafts like an ordinary bow, with scandium ingots in place of sticks.
Repairing your gear
Every piece repairs on an anvil with an ingot of its own material. The Repair Scepter, meanwhile, restores your entire inventory at once.

Frequently asked
Is lazurite better than diamond?
Yes, on every count: more durability, more speed, more damage and better enchantability. It still sits below netherite.
Is netherite still worth anything?
Yes. It sits between lazurite and pyrite, and remains far more accessible than scandium. It has lost its knockback resistance, though.
Why remove knockback resistance?
Because it made positioning and combos depend on gear rather than skill. On a server aiming for 1.7.10 combat, it has no place.
Does scandium armour protect me from fire?
No. It is the item that resists fire, not the player: your armour will not burn up in lava, but it does not make you fire resistant.
Which set should I aim for to start PvP?
A full enchanted lazurite set beats a scandium chestplate with iron everywhere else. Consistency across the set matters more than the single most expensive piece.
