Factions, claims, power and raids

The faction is the core unit of ScandiCraft. It is what turns your personal resources into collective decisions: who recruits, where the base goes, who you attack and who you protect.

Start or join a faction

You can found a faction and invite players, or join an existing group. Each member gets a role that defines what they can do: invite, claim land, access chests.

Territory: claims

The world is split into square plots called chunks. Your faction claims them one by one to cover its base. On a claimed chunk, other factions cannot build, break or loot.

Power: how much land you can hold

Every player contributes power to their faction. The total decides how many claims it can protect. Dying in PvP costs power, activity earns it back.

Vulnerability

If a faction claims more land than its power allows, it becomes vulnerable. That is the direct link between fights and the map: PvP has territorial consequences.

Allies, neutrals, enemies

A faction declares its relations. An alliance changes permissions and how you share ground; declaring an enemy opens the conflict.

Combat tag: no running from a fight

As soon as a PvP exchange starts, you are combat tagged: commands and teleports that would let you escape are blocked, and disconnecting has a clear consequence.

The four zone types

Four zones, four sets of rules. Unclaimed land belongs to nobody. Faction territory applies its faction's permissions. The safe zone disables combat; the war zone allows it but blocks explosions.

Frequently asked questions about factions

What exactly is a claim?

A claim is a plot of land — a chunk, a 16 × 16 block area — held by your faction. Inside it, other players cannot break your blocks or open your chests.

What is faction power for?

Power is your faction's territorial budget: the higher it is, the more claims it can protect. It drops when members die in PvP and recovers with activity.

Can one defeat destroy my faction?

No, and that is an explicit rule: a defeat must have real territorial consequences without permanently wiping out an active faction.

Can I switch factions?

Yes. You can leave a faction and join another. Your reputation follows you though: on a PvP/Faction server, your word counts.
