# 1.7.10-inspired PvP on modern Minecraft

Since Minecraft 1.9, a recharge bar sits between sword swings. Many PvP players stayed on 1.7.10, which is faster and easier to read. ScandiCraft does not run on 1.7.10: it recreates the feel on a modern version.

- Fast swords and axes, with Mining Fatigue slowdown retained; no sweeping attack.
- Combos, sprint resets, W-tapping, S-tapping and block-hitting all stay viable.
- Distance, positioning and timing matter as much as click speed.

## Classic weapon pace

Swords and axes can chain hits at their usual pace. Mining Fatigue retains its attack slowdown. Equipping a spear, a mace or a trident does not restart its recharge: only your last hit with that weapon counts. Every click does not guarantee damage: your target keeps brief immunity after a hit. A player hurt by a cactus, fire or lava still takes the knockback of your hits and arrows.

## Combos are back

Hitting your opponent pushes them back. Advance into that space and follow their movement to keep the right distance. Combos rely on positioning and timing; you can also work to escape that pressure.

## Sprint reset, W-tap and S-tap

The sprint reset, the W-Tap and the S-Tap all consist of cutting and restarting your sprint to maximise the knockback you deal. They are part of the expected skill level, and they take a few evenings to learn.

## Block-hitting

Block-hitting means alternating a sword hit and a block. Release your guard to attack, then block again to reduce incoming damage.

## Boost yourself with your bow

- Punch: with a Punch I or II bow, your own arrow can propel you when it hits you; Punch II gives a stronger push
- Technique: shoot ahead with a low draw, then move to catch your arrow. Timing, angle and movement matter: each shot does not guarantee a boost
- Bows: standard and scandium bows share the old trajectory; the scandium bow keeps its own damage and durability
- Damage: the boost requires an accepted hit. Your arrow can also hurt you, so watch your health and surroundings
- Combat: hitting yourself does not start or extend your combat tag

## Timing matters more than clicks

Normal clicking, jitter clicking, butterfly clicking and manual drag clicking are allowed. Macros and automated clicks are not. No arbitrary clicks-per-second cap replaces this rule. Keep the right distance and time each strike: every click does not guarantee damage.

## Frequently asked questions about ScandiCraft PvP

**Is ScandiCraft a 1.7.10 server?**

No. The server runs on a modern Minecraft version. What is recreated is the 1.7.10 combat feel: pace, knockback, combos and block-hitting.

**What is a sprint reset?**

A sprinting attack interrupts your sprint. Restart it before the next hit to regain its knockback bonus. W-tapping and S-tapping help you time this sequence.

**Do I need a high-end PC or a gaming mouse?**

No. Positioning, distance management and preparation weigh far more than hardware.

**Does the best gear always win?**

No, and that is an explicit design rule: gear buys options, never an automatic win.
